{"id":50,"date":"2026-05-20T00:48:46","date_gmt":"2026-05-19T15:48:46","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/gaap-bridge.com\/?p=50"},"modified":"2026-05-20T14:47:56","modified_gmt":"2026-05-20T05:47:56","slug":"uscpa00-why-uscpa","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/gaap-bridge.com\/?p=50","title":{"rendered":"USCPA 00 &#8211; Why USCPA?"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">While preparing for the ACCA exams recently, I realized that many people are seriously considering the USCPA path \u2014 especially those who dream of building a career and life outside their home country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">So in this post, I wanted to share why I decided to pursue the USCPA back in 2022, and how I first started balancing full-time work with studying.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Back in the summer of 2022, after a particularly busy season at work ended, I suddenly felt lost for the first time in years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I had been working nonstop toward deadlines for so long that once the busy period finished, it almost felt strange to have no immediate goal left.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Around that time, I was approved for nearly three weeks of vacation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For the first week, I honestly did nothing productive at all.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I stayed home with the air conditioner on, ordered delivery food every day, slept endlessly, and simply rested. Even now, I still remember how comforting that break felt after months of constant work.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">But after recovering physically, my mind slowly started moving again.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I began thinking about:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>what frustrated me about my current life<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>what I wanted to improve<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>and what kind of future I genuinely wanted for myself<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">At the same time, YouTube kept recommending videos about:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>productivity<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>self-development<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u201cmiracle mornings\u201d<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>balancing work and study<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">And strangely enough, that lazy summer became the moment I started redesigning my life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I think many working professionals eventually experience a similar moment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">You spend years chasing one major goal, finally achieve it, and then suddenly realize:<br \/>\u201cWhat comes next?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Part of me felt:<br \/>\u201cI can\u2019t just let time pass like this.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">But another part wondered:<br \/>\u201cIs there really anything left for me to challenge myself with?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">After thinking about it for days, I eventually asked myself a much simpler and more honest question:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cWhat do I truly want?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">And surprisingly, the answer became very clear.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I wanted to live abroad for at least one or two years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Not as a tourist.<br \/>Not as a short-term traveler.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I wanted to actually build a life somewhere else \u2014 working, struggling, adapting to another culture, and experiencing daily life outside the environment I had always known.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Once I started thinking from the perspective of:<br \/>\u201cWhat kind of life do I want?\u201d<br \/>instead of:<br \/>\u201cHow can I become more productive?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">my obsession with laziness almost disappeared overnight.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Then another question naturally followed:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cIf my experience is mainly in accounting and audit work, how could I realistically build a career overseas?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">And eventually, I came to a simple conclusion:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Accounting is already built on international standards.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Which means that if I could improve my English and gain internationally recognized qualifications, maybe my experience could become transferable across countries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure data-spectra-id=\"spectra-3f2cde58-9f04-4b8a-99f2-f8571194ebc6\" class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1125\" height=\"645\" src=\"https:\/\/gaap-bridge.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/image-1.png?w=1024\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-52\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">(Of course, public accounting work still requires local licensing depending on the country.)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Among foreign languages, English felt like the most practical choice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">And among English-speaking countries, the United States seemed to offer the largest range of opportunities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure data-spectra-id=\"spectra-42c42698-791c-4d7f-89c7-2255a1081472\" class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"1106\" height=\"642\" src=\"https:\/\/gaap-bridge.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/image-2.png?w=1024\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-54\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">That was the moment I seriously began researching the USCPA.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">At first, I wondered:<br \/>\u201cWould passing the USCPA actually make it possible to work abroad?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Realistically speaking, certifications alone are never enough.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">No matter how qualified you are, entering another country\u2019s job market as a foreign professional is never easy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">So I reached out to people already working internationally and asked for honest advice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The answer was realistic \u2014 but encouraging.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Simply holding the USCPA license would not magically guarantee opportunities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">However, if someone has:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>strong enough English skills<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>practical accounting or audit experience<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>and the ability to adapt professionally<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">then opportunities absolutely do exist.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Especially within:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>multinational companies<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>global accounting firms<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>overseas subsidiaries<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>and international finance teams<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">That possibility alone was enough motivation for me to begin.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Looking back now, the USCPA was never just about adding another certification to my resume.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It represented the possibility of building a different kind of life someday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In the next post, I\u2019ll share:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul
